Schlossberg hill walking tour

Go and “conquer” the Graz castle hill by Schlossbergbahn funicular. Be enchanted by beautiful views and interesting historical insights. Step up onto creaking floorboards, marvel at the enormous “Liesl” and climb up the clock tower. The walk starts at Schlossbergplatz square and ends via the lift inside the hill.

La Strada

La Strada Graz, the international festival for street art, puppet theatre, new circus and community art, is known for its skilful connection of people with art and performance. For many years, it has opened up blank spaces in an artistic way, discovered future parts of the city and made urban spaces into the city’s great stages (various event locations)!

Long Table of Graz

Unfortunately due to the impact of the Corona crisis we had to postpone the "Long Table of Graz" from August 21, 2021 to August 20, 2022. We would not have been able to fulfill the high expectations of this event this year. The tickets will remain valid until next year. If you have purchased your ticket already no actions from your side are needed, this will be your ticket for 2022. Also, if you have booked a Long Table Package through our office, this package will remain its value for 2022.

We ask for your understanding that there are currently no tickets available for the date on August 20, 2022. The event is sold out.

On August 20th 2022, the historic centre of Graz will turn into a giant open air restaurant. Just imagine sitting down at a festively decorated table and enjoying a delicious dinner with matching wines and musical entertainment, with another 750 guests for company in the heart of the old town. The evening starts at the atmospheric Landhaushof, where you will enjoy a commentated beer and wine tasting accompanied by little amuse bouches.

You will then be shown to your seat at a beautifully decorated Long Table. The Chefs of the participating Restaurants are planning a five course dinner, and their wine-chefs will guide you through an exclusive set of accompanying wines. Enjoy the dinner and the music. It will be, without no doubt, a completely unique experience.

Concerts at Eggenberg Palace

In the architecturally and acoustically perfect setting of the Planetensaal hall at Eggenberg Palace, internationally celebrated musicians will perform classical and modernist classic works, opening up completely new worlds of sound.

steirischer herbst - Paranoia TV

steirischer herbst reacts to today’s fears and uncertainties by reinventing itself as a media consortium. A platform for the uncanny and the unsettling, Paranoia TV is a critical and artistic response to the global pandemic and the complications it has introduced, not only to our everyday lives, but also with regard to producing large-scale art events and exhibitions.

Graz Marathon

The Graz Marathon attracts more than 6000 runners every year. The attractive track starts and finishes at the Graz Opera House, leads in two laps through the University district, along the Schlossberg and passes by the Mur Island and the Kunsthaus, and finally through the historic city center back to the Opera.

Guided truffle walks in the Graz Leechwald

Hunting for treasure in the Leechwald!

In Graz itself, delicious truffles grow beneath the earth, but how do you find these outrageously expensive natural resources? It’s quite simple if you know how and have a hard-working helper with a good nose! Truffle pigs are barely used any more, but you can still see the lively truffle hounds – on a truffle walk in the Graz forest school! There, you will learn a lot about truffles and sustainable forest management. Afterwards you can savour a dish made with the truffles you have found.

Graz Truffle Festival

Graz can boast a small culinary sensation, which is the crowning glory of Graz the „Capital of Delight“: seven different types and varieties of truffles have been discovered in the city forests of Graz!

The truffle is considered to be a culinary treasure and a diamond in the kitchen. According to tradition, these mushrooms, which grow underground and are extremely difficult to detect, were already very popular in ancient Egypt. Even the burgundy truffle, coveted by gourmets, has been harvested in Graz. To mark this, a truffle festival will take place again in 2022. The truffle festival‘s programme includes guided hikes, aninternational truffle market with specialities and high-quality truffle creations. And the partner companies in the Capital of Delight also offer a whole host of sophisticated culinary highlights – with the „Graz Truffle“ of course!

Following the great success of last year, Graz Capital of Delights invites you once again in autumn 2022 to an international truffle market in the Paradeishof, where many international exhibitors will once again bring excellent, high-quality truffle specialities from their respective regions.

KLANGLICHT – The Festival of Sound and Vision

Explore the elements of light and sound as KLANGLICHT transforms the inner city of Graz into a centre of luminous poetry from 21 to 23 April 2019. Curated and organised by Bühnen Graz, Austria's unique light and sound festival is already being held for the 5th time. In 2019, water, fire, earth and air will radiate light and sound in a wholly unique way.

On three evenings, national and international artists at KLANGLICHT transform the Styrian provincial capital into a truly magical place for the eyes, the ears and the heart with impressive façade projections, fascinating colourful landscapes and enchanting sounds. Emotion and wonder, light, sound and magic – free admission, open in all weather conditions!

Once again a full programme of exciting films awaits you - one of which will ultimately be awarded the Grand Prix gy an international jury. Additional events such as photo exhibitions, slide shows etc. guarantee a wide range of interest for the visitor.

The Advent markets start on November 18th 2022 and are open for you until December 24th! Experience the advent of short distances - all markets are within easy walking distance!

The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday November 26th, 2022, at 4.30pm in Hauptplatz square. Following that, the “Eiskrippe” ice nativity scene in Landhaushof courtyard will be officially opened.
